Niranjan Prabhu graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, India and a Master's degree in Offshore Structural Engineering from IIT Madras, India. After graduation, he received a Senior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research to carry out research work in the Structural Engineering Research Centre in Chennai. During his stay in SERC, he involved in numerical simulation of impact and blast loads on protective structures. As an Early Stage Researcher in SMARTINCS, he will develop test methodologies to characterize healing performance in concrete structural elements under sustained loading, repeated cracking and healing cycles, high strain rate and temperature cycles and provide a unified framework for the analysis of healing performance based on multiple indices, including characterization of healing products and compatibility with crack walls.
