Kiran Dabral studied for her Master degree in Engineering in India. She has international experience working as a Structural Engineer at SWECO and as an Assistant Design Engineer at Ramboll. As such, she has worked in a variety of projects to be executed and constructed in different parts of Sweden. She has intensively been involved in research work during her studies, where she carried out research in underwater concrete, as her final dissertation work. After working for more than two years in industry, she chose to shift her career towards research, in order to gain a more profound insight in a wide variety of topics and to learn how to independently conduct research. Within SMARTINCS, she will be responsible for generating service life models while integrating self-healing technologies in the structural design practices for extreme environmental exposure conditions. The outcomes of her work will open the pathways to market entrance of self-healing concrete.
