RDC is an engineering firm that designs and calculates structures with different strain-hardening cementitious composites. The founders produce most of these elements in the precast company PREFFOR. The sectors covered are civil engineering, precast housing, aquaculture and energy, and the solutions reduce the volume of raw materials used between a 50% and a 70% and have minimum maintenance costs. The structures in aggressive exposure environments include remote monitoring to prove their high resilience. The company can compete with traditional technologies thanks to the advance in the experience curve, and the optimization at three scales: Material, structure, and production procedures.
RDC has the main infrastructure required to host the ESR:
- Central Office with the engineering team of the company concentrated there, including five civil engineers specialized in precast structures and special concretes, two of them doctors. Software for calculation of concrete structures.
- 5 different concrete mixers from laboratory scale to industrial scale (3 m3) and prestressing frames to manufacture structural elements with special concretes.
Testing machines for compressive (3000kN) and bending tests (up to 250 kN) and impact tests, CMOD and strain gauges equipment.
